In terms of tech and features, the aftermarket head unit is a bit of a let down. The CVT transmission in this car is also quite nice as it has a launch gear with a fixed gear ratio up to a certain speed, so this doesn't have the slow acceleration of normal CVTs, yet retains the fuel economy and silence at higher speeds. ![]() The 2.0 DF engine is great for fuel economy and is more than enough for Singaporean roads and overtaking. It's soft, comfortable and relaxed, just like a car in this class is supposed to be. The suspension isn't overly firm, like the CX-5 and Tiguan. The RAV4 is not a sports car and it doesn't feel like one. It isn't particularly elegant, but it is very functional and gets the job done. The interior is practical and very comfortable, with plenty of useful storage pockets and areas everywhere. The cabin is very, very roomy and it doesn't sacrifice cargo capacity, which is also quite generous. The RAV4's spaciousness was what stood out initially.
